Verse 1
bhāi-re!
śarīra avidyā-jāla, jaḍendriya tāhe kāla,
jīve phele viṣaya-sāgare
tā’ra madhye jihvā ati, lobhamaya sudurmati,
tā’ke jetā kaṭhina saṁsāre
O brothers! This material body is a lump of ignorance, and the senses are deadly paths leading into the ocean of illusion. Among the senses, the tongue is most gluttonous and obstinate; it is exceedingly difficult to conquer in this world.
Verse 2
kṛṣṇa baḍo dayāmaya, karibāke jihvā jaya,
sva-prasāda-anna dilā bhāi
sei annāmṛta pāo, rādhā-kṛṣṇa-guṇa gāo,
preme ḍāko caitanya-nitāi
Lord Krishna is supremely compassionate! To help us conquer the tongue, He has provided the remnants of His own food, O brothers! Receive this nectarean prasada, sing the glories of Radha and Krishna, and in divine love call upon Chaitanya and Nitai!
