Verse 1

जय राधा-माधव जय कुञ्ज-बिहारी ।
जय गोपी-जन-वल्लभ जय गिरि-वर-धारी ॥

jaya rādhā-mādhava jaya kuñja-bihārī
jaya gopī-jana-vallabha jaya giri-vara-dhārī

Krishna is the lover of Radha. He displays many amorous pastimes in the groves of Vrindavana. He is the lover of the cowherd maidens of Vraja, the lifter of the great Govardhana Hill.

Verse 2

यशोदा-नन्दन व्रज-जन-रञ्जन ।
यमुना-तीर-वन-चारी ॥

yaśodā-nandana vraja-jana-rañjana
yamunā-tīra-vana-cārī

He is the beloved son of Mother Yashoda, the delighter of the inhabitants of Vraja, and He wanders in the forests along the banks of the River Yamuna.
